JJ Ringo Has Year Filled With Adversity!

By: Chris Santos

12/13/22… Fast Time Media: JJ would kick the year off with big plans for his partnership with the Keller Motorsports Team. They had plans to run with the Outlaws, The NARC 410 schedule, and more. However those plans were quickly up ended & changed.

The season would start off with the first of the 2022 World of Outlaws California swings. JJ would battle the best of the best & found himself outside of the feature event all 3 of the nights that he competed with the World of Outlaws.

Unfortunately what also came with the Outlaw swing would be a blown 410 motor, putting a temporary end to their 410 plans. They would put in the 360 & spend the next few months running 360 shows across the state of California.

During that span he would take home 5 top-10’s, 3 top-5’s, and a sentimental win. That win would come at the Tulare Thunderbowl. The driver of the 2k would wheel himself to his first ever Winged 360 Sprint Car win on April 30th with the Kings of Thunder Winged 360 Sprint Cars.

The Keller Motorsports team would finally get their 410 back just in time for the Dirt Cup at the Skagit Speedway. Ultimately their 410 struggles would continue as they failed to make the feature at Skagit & decided not to run on the Saturday Night.

JJ would have one more weekend in the 2k for the Howard Kaeding Classic. He would end up bringing home 24th place finishes on both nights, however after that weekend, JJ & the Keller Motorsports team would decide to part ways.

He would hop back aboard the family car after a few years with the Kellers. Things started well with a pair of top-10’s and a top-5. Then they would make the show both night’s at the Johnny Key Classic weekend. JJ would head to Placerville for the NorCal Posse Shootout where he would narrowly miss the feature both nights.

The final race of the 2022 season would be on September 17th at the Keller Auto Speedway where he would run with the Kings of Thunder Winged 360 Sprint Cars. Unfortunately a solid top-10 run would end early with another blown engine & bring his season to an end.

JJ had a solid season despite a lot of adversity. He would go on to state, “What started off as a year of high expectations and goals came poor results, motor failures and mechanical issues turned into a dismal year and ultimately led to going home to race with family. Some good runs overall but not the year I was expecting. Any opportunities for 2023 would be greatly appreciated.”

JJ’s 2022 Stats: 17 features, 1 win, 4 top-5’s, 7 top-10’s.

Ringo Brothers Racing would like to thank their sponsors; Graham Motorsports, Twenty-1 Motorsports, Graham Racing Engines, Hoodlum Racing, Winning Attitude Motorsports, Sue & Phil Graham, Carol Kolodziej, Kaeding Perrformance, Brian Matherly, and Turner Enterprises.
