5/22/24… Stockton, California: Sunday Night, John Clark was back in action. The 410 was back under the hood & they were in action at The Stockton Dirt Track. Once again, it was a learning experience with the track configuration continuing.
Saturday started out with time trials, where John was the 8th of 20 Sprint Cars to qualify. John was able to lay down a pretty good lap & laid down a time of 12.545. That was enough to time in 11th quickest overall in qualifying.
That set John up to start the heat race from the inside of row two in the 3rd starting spot. With track conditions being rough, John would fall back to the 5th spot & held on to finish there.
“We decided to head to Stockton for an evening Sunday race. The night started out pretty good qualifying 11th quick. In the heat race I started 3rd but fell back to 5th where I would go on to finish. The track changed more then we anticipated, but managed to still get through it.”
Going into the feature, John started on the inside of row seven in the 13th starting spot. The track was very tough to pass on with how the track conditions were. John held on to the 13th spot & would finish the feature there.
“In the main I started 13th & finished 13th. I had good speed in the main, but it was a tough track to pass on & not upset the car with the ruts. Overall it was a good night for us & we were able to roll the car in the trailer with no damage.”
It was a solid night for John & the team. Trying to adjust to the new track & the tough track conditions, John was able to hold onto there starting spot & finish the feature there.
