5/1/24… Placerville, California: Saturday Night, John Clark was back in action. This time it was with the 360 back under the hood as they ran in Placerville for their 2024 Winged 360 Sprint Car opener at the track.
The night started out with time trials. They were the 4th car out in a tough group. Going out early, the track still had to come in. John ended up laying down a time of 11.326 which would time in 12th quickest in the group.
Next up was the heat race where John rolled off from the outside of row three in the 6th spot. Starting 6th, John got to 5th & would try to get into 4th. John battled hard, but finished 5th which was one spot short of a transfer to the feature. That put John in the B-main starting 3rd. From 3rd, John held onto the 3rd spot & finished there, transferring to the feature.
John went out for the feature & started in the 18th spot. Early on, John was able to move forwards & get to 13th. Unfortunately, John spun out & had to go to the back. From there, it was tough to move forward & John ended up 18th.
“In the main I was struggling with a sticking throttle that was making it harder to control the car, but overall it was a good night & I was glad to put the car into the A-main. We look forward to our next race at Placerville this coming weekend.”
It was a soli start to the season for John in Placerville. Despite a stout field of cars in Placerville, John was able to make the feature & even move forward in the feature before spinning out & getting stuck in the back.
