9/28/23… Petaluma, California: Saturday Night, John Clark was once again in action, this time with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour for the Adobe Cup. As a strong field of cars was in action, John would look to put together a good night of racing.
John would start the night out as the 5th car to hit the track in group two. The track would still be a little greasy & that would hurt John’s lap. The driver of the #12J would end up timing in 4th quickest in the group with a time of 13.332.
That lined John up in the 3rd spot in heat race number two. The track would be hooked up & hard to pass in the heat race. John would end up falling backwards into the 4th spot & would finish the heat race there.
“I would be the 5th car out to qualify in group 2 when the track was still a little greasy. I would qualify 4th lining me up 3rd in the heat race. In the heat race it would be a fast track still, and I would finish 4th, going straight to the A.“
Going into the feature. John was slated to start on the outside of row seven in the 14th spot. On lap one, John was quickly able to get into the 10th spot. Battling with cars on restart & throughout the race, John was able to get into the 8th spot & finish there, grabbing a top-10.
“In the A-main I would start 14th. On the first lap I made it into 10th, and battled forward moving up to 7th before falling to 8th on a late restart. I finished the race in 8th.“
It was a good night for John & the CCI Racing Team. They were able to bring home a top-10 finish, as John would finish 8th. Next up for John is the Fall Nationals in two weeks at Silver Dollar Speedway.
“Overall we had good speed, and were able to score another top 10. Our next race will be Chico for the fall nationals.”
