7/26/24… Marysville, California: Towards the end of last week, John was in action with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour. They would take on the final three days of the Western Sprint Speedweek as John was in action in Marysville, Chico, & Placerville.
Thursday would start off with time trials in Marysville. John was the 15th car to hit the track & time in 14th quickest overall at Marysville Raceway. John then went out for the heat race where they’d roll off from 5th, but fell back to finish in 3rd.
The feature saw John roll off from the inside of the tenth row in 19th. From 19th, John battled hard & tried to stay out of trouble. John was able to gain a couple of spots, getting to the 17th spot & finished there.
Friday saw the field toughen, with over 40 Winged 360 Sprint Cars in action on the night. John was the 20th car out in the group & timed in 17th quickest. That set them up to roll off from 9th in the heat race, where John raced up to 6th. A 6th place finish put John in the B-main, but John would go from 4th to 2nd & make the feature.
John started the feature event in 22nd, against a very tough field of cars. Starting deep, John was able to move forwards & gain over a handful of spots. The checkered flag fell, & John would finish the Friday feature in 15th.
Saturday Night in Placerville was the final night of Speedweek. John kicked it off with a rough lap in time trials where they ended up timing in 17th quickest. That put John in a 5th starting spot for the feature, before John gained a spot & finished the heat race in 4th.
Going into the feature event, John started in the 16th spot. Starting 16th, John tried to move forward & gain a few spots. Unfortunately on lap twelve, John’s feature would come to an early ended with a 22nd place finish.
Overall, it was a pretty solid weekend for John. Against some tough fields of cars, John was able to make the feature all three nights, including a weekend best 15th place finish on Friday Night at Silver Dollar Speedway.
