11/3/22…Marysville California: Saturday Night, John Clark and the CCI Racing Team would make the trip to Marysville Raceway for the Sprint Spooktacular event. A strong field of 30 Winged 360 Sprint Cars would be in attendance ready to roll on Saturday Night.
John would roll out for single car qualifying as the 29th car out of 30. Going out late, John would still be able to lay down a solid lap, as John would end up 11th quick. “We would be the 29th car to go out for qualifying. I was able to run a good enough lab to qualify 11th.”
That would line the 12J up on the outside front row for their heat race. Staring 2nd John would get into the grease early and fall back to 3rd. After that John would end up coming home in the 3rd spot. “
In the heat I started 2nd, but got into the grease on the start and lost a position to finish 3rd.”
In the feature, John would then roll off from the 15th spot, courtesy of the heat race finish. Starting 15th, John would quickly move forward, getting up to as high as 5th. However John would end up falling back into the 8th spot, finishing the night there and bringing home a solid top-10 finish.
“In the A-main I started 15th and was quickly working my way forward. I got up to 5th before shortly after having help into the back stretch wall and falling to 8th. I would end the race in 8th. Overall we had a good car and showed speed and was able to get another top 10. I look forward to getting to Antioch a track I had gotten my first Spec Sprint win at.”
Overall it was a very solid night for John Clark and the 12J team. The night would start off solid despite going out very late and John would carry their speed throughout the rest of the night and into the feature, bringing home a top-10 finish.
