John Clark Earns Hard Charger in Chico!

6/1/23... Chico, California: Sunday Night, John Clark would be back in action with the 410 under the hood. It would be the first race of the 2023 season at Silver Dollar Speedway. John would end up earning the hard charger & finishing in the 8th spot.

John got the night started in qualifying, where they would be the 3rd car out in the group. John would struggle in qualifying & would end up going 7th quick in the group.

That put John starting 7th in the heat race. John would get to 5th early on. However, the driver of the 12J would miss the mark & fall backwards to the 6th spot, where John finished the heat race.

"We would qualify in groups, and I was in the last group. In qualifying I would struggle to find speed and messed up both my laps. I ended up qualifying 7th in the group. That would put me starting 7th in the heat, I got to 5th and then missed my line a little and finished 6th in the heat."

When the feature rolled around, John started on the outside of row nine in 18th. Early on, John would struggle & fall back to 21st. However, things would get going as John would get into a rhythm & charge forward all the way to an 8th place finish.

"That would put me starting 18th in the feature. In the feature I dropped to 21st in the opening laps then found some rhythm and started moving forward. I got up to 8th place and that is where I finished being the hard charger."

It was a good night for John & the CCI Racing team. Things would get off to a tough start, but John would get better as the night went on & brought home the best finish of their season
