6/27/23… Placerville, California: Saturday Night, John Clark and the 12J team were in action at Placerville Speedway. It was a rough night for John in Placerville, as they got behind the 8-ball from the beginning of the night and ended their night in the B-main.
The night began with qualifying, where John was the 25th of 27 cars to hit the track for qualifying. Going out late, the track had slowed down. The driver of the 12J ended up timing in 20th quickest out of 27 cars.
“I pulled a high pill, which put me as one of the last cars out to qualify. I wasn’t able to find enough grip on the track and timed in 20th quick.”
John lined up on the inside of row number three in the 5th starting position. They would not have the setup right for the heat race and struggled to move forward. John tried to battle for the transfer spot but came up short & finished 5th.
“That would put me in Heat 4 starting 6th. In the heat I battle hard to get into a transfer but just didn’t have the car quite set-up good enough to hold the spot finishing 5th.”
In the B-main, John would start on the outside of the third row in the 6th spot. It would be very hard to pass in the B-main event. Starting 6th, John would drop back to the 8th spot where they would finish & end their night.
“In the B-main I started 6th, and the track went away. I tried all I could but there was just no passing in the B, and I ended up dropping to 8th.“
Saturday was a rough night for John & the CCI Racing team. However, despite the rough night, John would still roll the car in the trailer in one piece.
