10/31/23… Marysville, California: Saturday Night, John Clark & the CCI Racing Team was back in action. They’d put the 360 back under the hood for Marysville’s final race of the 2023 race season, the Sprint Spooktacular.
John would get the night started out with time trials. Hitting the track, they looked to lay down a good lap. The times were pretty close from 10th to 18th. John put down a time of 13.112, which would ultimately put John 16th quickest overall.
That put John on the pole of the heat race. Quickly, John would jump out to a lead. From there, John pulled away from the rest of the field. When the checkered flag fell, John finished the heat race with the win.
John made the redraw & would roll off from the 4th spot in the feature event. Early on, they struggled with the car. As the race went on, the car would loosen up & John would be able to hold on & grab an 8th place finish during the feature event, bringing the night to an end.
“The night started off with me qualifying 16th. That would put me on the pole of the heat. In the heat, I got a good start and was able to win it from the pole. That put me into the top 8 redraw. In the A-main I started 4th, and fell backwards on the start and struggled with a car that was to tight. I was able to hold on and finish 8th.“
It was a solid night for John & the team. They had really good speed all night, and were able to bring home a top-10 against a very good field of Winged 360 Sprint Cars.
