7/3/24… Chico, California: Saturday Night, John was in action at Silver Dollar Speedway. It was a big double header weekend. Friday kicked off the weekend with the Brownell/Herseth Classic & Saturday ended the weekend with the David Tarter Memorial.
John kicked the weekend off with time trials on Friday Night. They were the 3rd car to hit the track & was able to time in 14th quickest overall. That set John up to start the heat race in the 5th spot. From 5th, John was able to hold onto the spot & finish there.
Heading into the feature event, John would roll off from the 14th position. Starting towards the middle of the field, John battled to move forwards in the feature. John ended up holding onto the 14th spot & finishing the feature there.
Going into Saturday, the field got tougher as it was a NARC Sanctioned event. With 30 cars in attendance, John would be the 13th car out in the first of two groups to qualify. With a time of 13.137, it was enough for John to time in 11th quickest overall out of 15 cars in the group.
As John entered the heat race, they’d roll off from the outside of row three in the 6th starting spot. Only five cars transferred so John needed to gain a spot & did just that. John would get up to 5th & finish in the final transfer spot, locking into the feature event.!
When the feature event rolled around, John was locked in & rolled off from the inside of row ten in the 19th starting spot. Starting deep, John would try & stay out of trouble. Once the checkered flag fell, John would finish where they started the feature in the 19th spot.
It was a good weekend for John in Chico at Silver Dollar Speedway. They’d make the feature both nights, stay out of trouble, and had a 14th place finish to highlight the weekend.
