5/2/23... Antioch California: Saturday Night, John Clark would put the 410 in to run with the NARC 410 Sprint Cars in their return to Antioch Speedway. A great field of 20 Winged 410 Sprint Cars would be in action on Saturday Night.
John would get the night going with qualifying, where they would be 7th of 20 cars to hit the track. Going out early, John would end up missing the mark on both laps & not getting the lap they wanted, putting John 18th quickest overall.
"I would go out early to qualify but was still getting use to the car and made a mistake not getting a good lap in."
That would line John up on the outside of row three in 6th for the heat race. John would battle hard in a very tough heat race. They would keep up with the cars in front but would unfortunately finish where they started in the 6th spot.
"In the heat race I would start 6th and finish 6th but was able to keep up with the cars in front of me."
For the feature, John would roll off deep, starting in the 18th spot on the outside of row nine. Starting deep, the track would be very slick in the feature as John would try & battle forward. When the checkered flag fell, John would have finished in the 15th spot, gaining three spots.
" In the A-main I started 18th and drove it up to a 15th place finish on a super dry slick track."
It was another good night for John Clark & the CCI Racing #12J team. Despite it being the first 410 race of the season for John, they would have good speed & will get better the more laps they get.
"Overall each time I hit the track I got more comfortable and got faster. I look forward to doing a few more 410 races this year."
