9/26/22…Petaluma California: Saturday Morning, John and the 12J team would make the last second decision to head to Petaluma Speedway to run the Adobe Cup. 28 Winged 360 Sprint Cars would pack the pit area ready to roll for the final visit of the year to Petaluma Speedway.
John’s Night would start off with qualifying where there would be in group 3. It would be a good start for John as they would end up 3rd quickest in the group & 5th quickest overall in qualifying. “I would hotlap in group 3 and qualify in group 3. I went out and qualified 3rd in the group and 5th overall.”
With a 3rd place qualifying effort in their group, John would line up on the outside of row 1 for the heat race. John would make a little mistake causing them to fall back to 4th where John would finish the heat race & make the feature. “That would line me up starting 2nd in the heat. In the heat I was staying up with the field but we missed set up a little and the car was just a little to tight making me fall back to 4th.”
With a 4th place heat race finish, John would lineup on the inside of row 7 in the 13th position. The 12J team would be rolling in the feature as John would make passes and avoid some wrecks, moving through the field. By the time the checkered flag fell on the feature, John would bring home a great finish, finishing 5th.”
In the A-main I started 13th and was able to avoid some carnage in front of me and pass some cars. I was able to get a top 5 and have some good racing with the other cars. Overall I had speed all night and felt really good in the feature on a track that was not easy to pass on.”
