John Clark Takes On Placerville Speedway Double Header!

By: Fast Time Media

6/6/24… Placerville, California: Friday & Saturday Night, John was in action for a big Placerville Speedway double header. Friday, John was in action with the 360 under the hood with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour, then was in action Saturday with the NARC 410 Sprint Cars with the 410 under the hood.

Friday started out with time trials, where John would go out late in Group B. Being one of the final cars to hit the track, John was still able to lay down a solid lap. A time of 11.429 was enough for 14th quickest in Group B.

The heat race had John lined up on the inside of row four in the 7th spot. Starting 7th, John would try to go to work & make a transfer to the feature. Unfortunately, John wasn’t able to gain any spots & finished the heat race in the 7th spot.

“Friday we decided to bring the 360 car out to Placerville for the Scct portion of the Bradway. The night started out getting the high pill draw.

I was the last car out to qualify and didn’t get as fast of a lap as I’d like. I would start 7th in the heat race. In the heat race the track was hard to pass & I ended up where I started.”

John then started deep in the B-main as they rolled off from 10th. Starting in the 10th spot, John would end up gaining a spot getting to 9th. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to make a transfer to the feature & the night would end early for John.

“In the B-main I was able to move forward a spot or two but missed out on transferring out.”

Saturday Night, John went out early in Group B for time trials. Unfortunately that didn’t change much as John could only time in 15th quickest with a time of 11.721. That set John up to start on the outside of row four in the 8th spot. John would go on to finish where they started in 8th.

“Saturday we loaded up the 410 car & headed back to Placerville. I would go out to qualify as the 4th car in group B. In qualifying I tried to hard & ending up messing up my laps. It would put me starting 8th in the Heat race where I would finish sending me to the B-main.”

The B-main rolled around & John started deep in the 12th spot. Quickly, John went to work trying to make it into a transfer spot. The driver of the 12J gained a handful of spots, but only finished in the 7th spot & missed a transfer to the feature.

“In the B-main I started 12th & avoided some wrecks & was able to pass a few cars & would end up 7th. Overall the results don’t show it, but we improved each time on the track & are starting to learn more about set-up at Placerville.”

Despite not having the results they wanted, it was a solid weekend for John in Placerville. They’d get some valuable laps at the track & were able to roll it into the trailer in one piece.

John would like to thank there sponsors: CCI Electrical, VSR, Buster’s BBQ, & Jerry’s Valero.
