6/28/24… Placerville, California: Saturday Night, Josh Gillis was in action at Placerville Speedway. He would face a solid field of Wingless Sprints as 16 cars would be in action on Saturday Night for his first visit to the track in 2024.
Josh started the night out with time trials. He would be the 8th of 16 Wingless Sprinst to hit the track for qualifying. Going out around halfway through the field, he was able to lay down a pretty solid time. With a time of 12.896, it was enough to time Josh in 10th quickest overall.
With a solid qualifying time; Josh started his heat race from the inside of row three in the 5th spot. Starting 5th, Josh just needed to move forward as much as possible. After a solid run, he was able to gain a spot & get to the 4th where he’d finish.
Going out for the feature, Josh started in a solid spot as he would roll off from the outside of row four in the 8th starting spot. While trying to move forward, Josh would go for a wild ride. He got together with another car & flipped hard. He suffered some minor injuries but is ultimately okay.
It was a rough ending to what was a solid night for Josh. Unfortunately with the damage to the car, Josh will be out of action for a while as they get things fixed on the car.
