5/21/24… Merced, California: Saturday Night, Josh was back in action with the Joe Hunt Magneto’s Wingless Sprint Car Series. With 20 cars in attendance, Josh faced some strong competition at Merced Speedway.
The night would begin with time trials, Josh was the 10th of 14 Wingless Sprints to hit the track. Going out exactly halfway through the field, Josh would end up timing in 14th quickest overall with a time of 13.766.
Next up for Josh was the Heat race where he’d roll off from the 7th spot. He ended up losing power steering making it a difficult Heat race. When it was all said & done, Josh finished the Heat race where he’d started in 7th.
Josh was slated to start the feature on the outside of row eight in the 16th spot. Unfortunately, after switching fuel pumps before the feature, it wouldn’t work & his night would end there.
“I qualified 14th but was light at the scales, had to start last in the heat, lost power steering, finished 7th. Swapped pumps before the feature & then the fuel pump didn’t work so my night ended.”
It wasn’t the night that they wanted in Merced. After some issues in the heat race, his only visit to the track ended early with fuel pump issues on Saturday Night.
