Josh Gillis Has Throttle Linkage Issue in Petaluma!

By: Fast Time Media

4/28/23... Petaluma California: Saturday Night, Josh Gillis would be back in action with the Joe Hunt Magneto's Wingless Tour in Petaluma. He would face a very tough field of 35 Wingless Spec Sprints for the Randy Larson Memorial.

The night would get off to a rough start, as he would get to the track late. Getting there late he would be the last car to hit the track for qualifying. They would not have much time to set the car up & would end up going 28th quick overall in qualifying.

"We showed up to Petaluma late due to heavy traffics. Didn’t get to pull a pill so i was the last to qualify and didn’t have much time to figure things out for a very heavy track," Josh continued. "The car was way off & I went 28th out of 34."

That would put Josh starting 7th on the inside of row four for his heat race. Starting deep, Josh seemed to have gotten the setup fixed. He would drive forward in the heat race gaining a pair of spots. That would put him in the 5th & final transfer spot to the feature.

"I started 7th in the heat and ran 5th. The car was much better and track was going in a great direction."

Josh would be scheduled to line up in the 20th spot in the feature event. However, issues would end up bringing his night to an end. While going to take the green, he would have a throttle linkage issue & wasn't able to give it gas. That would end his night with a DNS results.

"I started 20th in the feature, going to take the green and pushed the throttle and it went nowhere," Josh added. "I pulled it off the track and it turns out we had a throttle linkage had a part failure."

It was a tough ending to a night that was starting to look good for Josh. He would show some very good speed & was looking for a solid run. However, his throttle linkage issue would cut his night short.
