11/2/23… Marysville, California: Saturday Night, Josh Gillis was in action at Marysville Raceway. He’d run the Sprint Spooktacular which was the final race of 2023 at the track.
After feeling comfortable & getting some good laps in hot laps, Josh rolled off from 2nd in his heat race. He battled issues as the Powe Valve would blow which caused the engine to struggle. He tried to battle through it, but ended up finishing in the 4th spot for the heat race.
They fixed the issues before the main & he would head for the feature where he’d roll off from 8th. Starting 8th, things quickly would come to an end in the feature. On lap one, he’d end up being involved in a wreck in the first corner. That would bring his night to an end in 13th.
”We had a great car & were really comfortable in hot laps. Started 2nd in the heat but had a power valve blow out right away and engine didn’t run well, ending up 4th. Fixed that problem & started 8th in the main & got into a wreck turn 1 of the first lap.“
It was an unfortunate night for Josh in Marysville. He battled luck all night after it seemed they would have solid speed on Saturday. He will be back in action on Saturday to end the season at the Stockton Dirt Track.
