5/23/23... Placerville, California: Saturday Night, Josh Gillis would be back in action with the Joe Hunt Magneto's Wingless Sprint Tour. The competition would be tough on Saturday, but Josh would end up taking home a 14th place finish.
He would get the night rolling with qualifying, going out 2nd out of 28 cars. Despite going out early, Josh would end up 21st quick overall. That would line Josh up 5th for his heat race. It would be tough to pass, as Josh would finish where he started in 5th.
That lined Josh up 5th in the B-main. Starting 5th, Josh would need to move forward to make the feature. He did just that, battling forward & gaining two spots, to finish 3rd & transfer to the feature.
Josh started the feature deep, rolling off from 19th. He showed really good speed in the feature as he started to charge forward. Josh ended up gaining 5 spots, and finishing the feature event in the 14th spot.
"Overall a decent showing for us, got a lot of seat time in running the B and the A. Car improved throughout the night, just was a follow the Leader/one groove track for the main. Heat was p5-p5, B main p5-P3, and A main p19-p14."
It was a pretty good night for Josh Gillis & his team. Josh found some good speed as the night went on & brought home his best finish with the Joe Hunt Series in 2023.
