Kaleb Montgomery 11th in Fall Nationals Finale!

By: Fast Time Media

10/12/23… Chico, California: Friday & Saturday Night, Kaleb Montgomery was back in action at Silver Dollar Speedway. They would make the drive up north to battle a field with upwards of 60 cars for the Fall Nationals.

Friday didnt go how Kaleb would have liked. He would begin the night by timing in 6th quickest in his group. Things seemed to be going in the right direction as he was solidly in a transfer spot in his heat race. Unfortunately, late in the race he’d bike the car up & get over the cushion. Kaleb would fall back to 10th & finish the heat race there.

A tough ending to his heat race would send him to the C-main. He’d roll off from the pole & quickly pull out to the lead. While leading, Kaleb would get over the cushion & fall back to 5th. He was able to get back up to the 3rd spot & transfer to the B-main. Kaleb would start 19th in the B-main & quickly move forward. He was able to get up to 7th, but came up short of a transfer to the feature.

“Friday night wasn’t our best night of racing. Driver ran the wrong line in qualifying & didn’t end up where we wanted. We were running in the transfer in the heat until I biked it up & sent it off the track. Came through the C main & into the B finishing 7th & missing the transfer by a couple spots.”

Going into Saturday, Kaleb would look to have a much better night. The struggles in qualifying would continue. While he was able to lay down a solid lap, it still wasn’t where Kaleb wanted to be. That put him starting 5th in his heat race. After changing some things on the setup, Kaleb was able to go from 5th to 3rd & make the feature event.

The Saturday Night feature would see Kaleb roll off from 12th starting spot. He would quickly get into 11th, before getting sent off the track. Kaleb kept the car going & rejoined the field in 24th.

After getting back into the thick of things, Kaleb began his charge forward. As he put together some good laps & getting some help from cautions. Kaleb was able to make his way back up to 11th & finish the feature there.

“We battled the race car early in the night & didn’t qualify where we wanted. Justin sanders got me on the right track for the heat race & we ended up getting 3rd. The car felt amazing after that & we were running 11th in the main until we got pushed off the track by another driver. After that we charged from dead last back up to 11th.”

The weekend didn’t get off the way Kaleb had wanted it too, but he would rebound on Saturday for a solid finish. While it wasn’t the results he wanted, Kaleb would end the weekend feeling good about the direction the car was going.

“Not the results we wanted but I am not my results and the car felt amazing! Looking forward to getting back in the 410 again this weekend!“

Kaleb would like to thank his sponsors on the #3; Luxton Real Estate, Bullseye, and David Crye.
