9/26/23… Petaluma, California: Saturday Night, Kaleb Montgomery was back in action at Petaluma Speedway. He would take on the Adobe Cup with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour at the site of his first ever SCCT win!
Kaleb would start the night out on a high note in qualifying. He would be the first of six cars to hit the track for the fourth group of qualifying. Going out early, Kaleb was able to lay down a time of 12.877 which put him QuickTime in his group & 5th quickest overall.
That would put Kaleb starting fourth in his heat race. Kaleb would quickly get up into the 2nd spot. On a restart, he was able to grab the lead & go on to win the heat race. He would make the dash & start in the 8th spot. Kaleb was able to race his way up to the 6th spot where he finished.
“Saturday started off really good. We got quick time in our group. Started 4th in the heat and got to 2nd really fast. On a restart we got the lead and won the heat! From there I pulled the 8 in the dash. I got to 6th starting me there in the feature.”
In the feature event, Kaleb would start 6th & was able to find his way up to 5th on the very first lap. Unfortunately, on lap two he would bike the car in turns 1 & 2. Kaleb would try & save it, but couldn’t. He got upside down & into the wall, bringing his night to an end.
“I got to 5th on the first lap of the main and then randomly biked the car up on the second lap. Sucks to end a solid night by crashing but we had speed and we will carry it into Hanford next weekend!”
Despite a bad ending to the night, Kaleb had a car that was very capable of winning & will carry his speed into this coming weekend in Hanford at Kings Speedway!
