5/8/24… Hanford, California: Friday Night, Kaleb Montgomery was back in action at Kings Speedway. It was the second straight weekend in a row where he would be in action at Kings Speedway as he was coming off a 6th place finish.
The night started out with time trials where he was the 15th car to hit the track. Going out late, Kaleb was able to lay down a solid time but it wasn’t the time he wanted. He’d end up timing in 7th quickest overall.
That put him on the outside of the front row in the 2nd starting spot. Unfortunately, after a pair of bad starts, Kaleb was sent back a row & started in 4th. From there, he was able to rip off some solid laps & get up to 3rd where he’d finish the heat race.
“The night didn’t start out how I wanted it to. We did not qualify the best, but it put me starting Front Row of a heat race. In the heat race, we got put back a row for jumping the start so we started fourth & finished third.”
Going into the feature, Kaleb started on the inside of row four in the 7th starting spot. From there, the feature was pretty straight up. He ran some consistent laps & was able to make his way up to 5th where he’d finish.
“From there we started seventh in the future and made clean labs ending up fifth. I was not very pleased with how the night went, but I learned a lot going forward. If our bad nights are 5th place, then we are headed in the right direction.”
It was another solid night for Kaleb. Even though he didn’t have the night that he wanted, he was still able to bring home a 5th place finish & continues to have consistent runs this season.
