11/9/23... Stockton, California: Saturday Night, Kaleb Montgomery was in action at the Stockton Dirt Track with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour. He entered the season finale 3rd in the points standings & looked to try & steal a championship.
He would start the night out with qualifying. Kaleb was the 3rd of seven cars to hit the track in his group for time trials. He ended up laying down a time of 13.676 which was enough to put him 2nd quickest in his group.
That put Kaleb on the pole of his heat race. He'd quickly jump out to the lead. Once in the lead, Kaleb went on to win the heat race. Kaleb would make the dash, but pull the six. After starting 6th, he was able to make his way into the 4th spot where he'd finish the dash.
As they went into the feature, Kaleb rolled off from the outside of the second row in the 4th spot. When the green fell on the feature, Kaleb quickly went into work. He'd get to third & begin to challenge for 2nd. Eventually, Kaleb grabbed 2nd but would settle for a 2nd place finish & come up just short of the SCCT title.
"Saturday we started the night off not so good. We were terrible in hot laps! Before qualifying I told myself a couple things to stay true to & execute. We did that & ended up 2nd quick in our group. From there we won our heat & of course we draw the biggest number possible for the dash. In the main we made quick work to get our way up to second & maintain there. The car was awesome all night & I can’t think of a better way to end our season!"
It was a good way to end the Sprint Car Challenge Tour season. He'd hang on & grab a 2nd place finish in the points standings & a 2nd place finish during the finale. Kaleb may have one or two more races on the schedule before his season comes to a close!
