6/11/24… Petaluma, California: Saturday Night, Kaleb Montgomery was in action at Petaluma Speedway. He would be back in action with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour as he made his first appearance of the season at Petaluma Speedway.
The night would begin with time trials, where Kaleb was the 12th car to hit the track. Going out around halfway through the field, he was able to rip around the track well & lay down a good lap. A time of 13.040 would time Kaleb in 3rd quickest overall.
Kaleb was in a good spot going into the heat race as he lined up on the outside of row two in 4th. He was able to make some moves & charge his way forward in the heat race. Kaleb ended up getting into 2nd & finishing the heat race there. That locked him into the dash where he’d start 5th & go on to finish there as well.
“This weekend started out great & we learned a lot. We altered the base of our set up quite a bit to try & find some new comfortability. Out of the gate in qualifying I felt solid & managed a 3rd quick. From there we started 4th in the heat & ran second to secure a dash spot.”
As they entered the feature, Kaleb was slated to start on the inside of row three in 5th. Staying out of trouble, Kaleb would once again charge forward. He made his way from 5th to 2nd & finished the feature with the runner-up spot on the podium.
“We started the feature in 5th & by keeping our nose clean, we moved our way up to finish second. I felt great all night thanks to Lee Lingron! He is a great wrench & mentor giving me so many useful tips & tricks all night.”
It was another good run for Kaleb with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour. He continues to have a solid start to the season, but Saturday in Petaluma was his best run of the season so far.
