10/17/22…Kokomo Indiana: Friday Night, Kyle Shipley and his team would be back in action & make the trip to Kokomo Speedway in Indiana. A great field of 30 Non Winged 410 Sprint Cars would be in the Kokomo Speedway pit area ready to roll and kick off the 2022 Kokomo Klash.
In qualifying, Kyle would end up going out in the first of 3 groups. He would end up going out and laying down a solid lap. That lap would end up putting Kyle 3rd quick out of the 11 Non Winged 410 Sprint Cars that were in his group.
He would line up on the inside of row 2 in the 3rd spot for his heat race. Kyle would continue to show good speed in the heat race. Starting 3rd, he would hold his spot on the start and go on to finish where he started in the 3rd position.
That would put Kyle starting 7th in the Friday Night Feature event. He would get going early quickly battling for the 4th spot. However, Anton Hernandez would spin in front of him. That would bring Kyle to a stop as he would have nowhere to go.
Coming to a stop, Kyle would end up having to tag the rear of the field. Unfortunately the rest of the race would be tough as the front end would be bent, hampering the handling of the car. He would end up bringing it home with a 17th place finish.
It was a good night for Kyle in Kokomo as he had a potentially race winning car. However one wreck would end his chances at a win and his night in Kokomo.
