Kyle Shipley Takes Home Top-10 at Lincoln Park Speedway

BY: Chris Santos

9/26/22…Gas City Indiana: Thursday Night Kyle Shipley would make the trip to Gas City Speedway to run with the USAC National Sprint Cars. A great field of 36 Non Winged 410 Sprint Cars would be in the pit area ready to roll for a great night of racing on Thursday Night.

Kyle would get the night rolling with qualifying. He was able to go out & lay down a solid lap where he would end up going 19th quick out of the 36 Non Winged 410 Sprint Cars. That would put him into a solid position for his heat race.

The heat race would see Kyle roll off from the outside of the front row in the 2nd spot. He would have some troubles in the heat race as he would bike the car causing him to lose some spots. He would fall back to 7th where he would finish and get sent to the B-Main event.

He would lineup on the outside of row 4 in the 8th spot to start the B-main. Once again he would bike the car in the B-main causing him to lose more spots. When the checkered flag fell he would finish in the 16th position & bring his night to an end. “Missed the setup. In the heat and the b main. Biked in both. Almost went for a big ride in the heat race”

Kyle would take the night off Friday Night before making the last second trip to Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville Indiana. Another solid field of 24 Non Winged 410 Sprint Cars would pack the pit area ready to roll for their final race of the 2022 race season.

In qualifying, he would need to get a solid lap to put himself in a good spot for the night. Kyle would get his night off to a much better start as he would go out & go quick time in his group & put himself in a great spot for the heat races.

The heat race would see him roll off from the outside of row 2 in the 4th position. Kyle would continue to show his speed as he would make moves in his heat race. He would get himself up to the 3rd spot before the checkered flag would fall as he would finish in the 3rd spot. “Started 4th in the heat race and had a moving chicane in front of me the first 3 or 4 laps. Finished 3rd.”

His heat race efforts would put him into an 8th place starting position on the outside of row 4. The track would be good but he would have trouble making moves. It seemed as though things would not go his way & he would finish in the 7th position, moving forward 1 spot in the feature.

“Started 8th in the feature. Had a good track, gnarly curb in 3 and 4. Again more moving chicanes cost us dearly. Car was good, driver was good, I just felt like I was in the wrong place at the wrong time around the squirrels.”

It was a solid weekend for Kyle. He would have a tough night on Thursday Night, but he would end up rebounding after a day off on Saturday & bring home a solid top-10 finish.

Kyle would like to thank his sponsors; Lifestyle Homes.
