8/30/23… Kansas City, Kansas: Friday & Saturday Night, Kyler Johnson returned to action at Lakeside Speedway & The Salina Highbanks Speedway. It was his first time in action since the 360 Knoxville Nationals at Knoxville.
The night started out with qualifying where he was the fourth car out in his group. He put down a time of 15.418 & that put him 6th in his group. Kyler then rolled off from the outside of row three in 6th for his heat race. He went on to start & finish the heat race in the 6th spot.
Kyler started the feature event from the 16th spot on the outside of row eight. After starting 16th, Kyler would slowly move forward in the feature event. As he made his way forward he would put down some solid laps. When it was all said & done, Kyler finished in the 11th spot.
Going into Saturday, Kyler looked to improve from Friday Night’s finish. He was once again in the second group for qualifying. He would be the 5th car out, but was able to lay down a better lap. That would be enough to time him in 4th quick. The heat race saw Kyler start on the pole, but he slipped back to 3rd where he would finish.
When the feature came around, Kyler started in the 13th position. Once again, Kyler was good in the feature. He would methodically move his way forward slowly picking off cars. The driver of the #45x was able to finish the feature event in the 7th spot, going plus six on the night.
It was a good weekend in his return to racing for Kyler Johnson. He was solid both on Friday & Saturday, as he gained 5 spots in the feature on Friday & 6 spots in the feature on Saturday.
