9/7/23… Colcord, Oklahoma: Friday & Saturday Night, Kyler Johnson was in action with the ASCS National Sprint Cars. They would take on Arrowhead Speedway on Friday where Kyler Finished 7th. Then on Saturday, they battled at Longdale Speedway where Kyler finished 15th.
Friday started out with time trials, where Kyler was the 5th car in his group to hit the track. He would lay down a time of 13.417 which put him 2nd quick in his group. In the heat race, Kyler would struggle. After starting 3rd, he fell back to 7th where he finished the heat race.
That slated Kyler to start deep in the Feature event. He rolled off from 18th but quickly got rolling. Kyler would gain a lot of spots in the feature event. As he started 17th, he would make his way forward. Slicing his way through the field, Kyler was able to get to 7th where he would finish.
Saturday, Kyler looked to better his finish from Friday Night. He began the night with time trials, where he was the 3rd car out in his group. This time Kyler would time in 5th quick in the group. That put him starting 5th in his heat, and he would end up finishing there.
When the feature came around, Kyler started on the inside of row five in the 9th spot. Starting 9th, Kyler was fast early. He turned some of the fastest laps of the race. With nine laps to go he found himself in the 4th spot: Unfortunately , his engine would blow, bringing his night to an end.
It was a solid overall weekend for Kyler. A charge to 7th on Friday highlighted the weekend. However, he would be fast for majority of Saturday Night before the engine blew & brought his night to an early & unlucky end.
