8/15/23… Elma, Washington: Friday & Saturday Night, Levi Kuntz was back in action in the Pacific Northwest! He was in action on Friday Night at Willamette Speedway in the Limited Sprint. Then in action Saturday Night at Grays Harbor Raceway in the Limited Sprint & the Jordi Meese Racing owned 360!
Friday started out with time trials, where Levi would time in 10th quick out of 13 Limited Sprint Cars. In the heat race, Levi rolled off from the 5th position. Starting 5th, Levi held on to the spot & finish the heat race there.
“The track was different each time out. Car was good for hot laps so we decided not to make changes for Qualifying. The track slicked off more than we were prepared for qualifying us 10th of 13. We went 5th to 5th in heat number two.”
That would line Levi up in the 9th spot for the feature event. Starting 9th, Levi would begin to move forward. Late in the race he found himself in the 6th spot. However, the track began to take rubber & Levi would lose his right rear. He would end up finishing 9th.
“We started 9th in the main, moved up to 6th. Lap 21 track rubbered down on the bottom when we lost the right rear finishing 9th.”
Levi started the night out timing in the Limited Sprint Car 5th quick out of 10 cars. He would start the heat race in 4th & finish in 3rd. That lined him up on the outside of row two in 4th for the feature. After a great battle in the feature, Levi made a pass for the lead on lap 16 & went on to win the feature.
“In the Limited we qualified 5th of 10 cars. Went 4th 3rd in Heat one. In the main we started 4th and was able to put on a good race finishing 1st.“
The 360 saw Levi start the night out timing in 2nd quickest out of five cars. That put him on the outside of the front row for his heat race. Starting 2nd, Levi quickly jumped into the lead & would go on to win the heat race.
“In the 360 we qualified 3rd of 5. With a 4 car invert we started outside pole in the Heat. I had a good start taking the win.“
His first ever 360 feature saw Levi roll off from the 3rd spot. Aboard the Jordi Meese Racing 360, Levi would impress. He quickly got to 2nd & would try to reel in the leader. Levi made it close at one point & would close in on the leader. However, he had to settle for 2nd & would finish there.
“We started 3rd in the Main finishing 2nd. We showed good speed and car control. Cannot thank the Meese family enough for letting me pilot their 24 car. Special thanks to their crew for time spent at the track and on wrenches. What an experience!”
It was an awesome weekend for Levi Kuntz & his whole team. After a tough night Friday, he would grab a win in the Limited Sprint on Saturday, and a runner up in his first true 360 start as well.
