5/8/24… Ventura, California: Saturday Night, Logan Mitchell was in action at Ventura Raceway. After some rainouts, it was finally time for racing again as he was in action with the WMR Midgets on Saturday Night.
He started the night off with heat race action, where he started on the outside of row two in the 4th starting spot. Starting 4th, Logan went to work & quickly made his way forward. He ended up getting to the lead & going on to win the heat race.
That put him in a good spot for the feature, as Logan rolled off from the 3rd starting spot. Early on he fell back to 3rd but quickly was able to get into 2nd. After a red flag, Logan got a tough restart & settled into 2nd. In the final turn, he threw a Hail Mary & nearly made it stick. Unfortunately, he came up short & finished 2nd .
“Started off good in the heat race started 4th & finished 1st. Then started 3rd in the main & fell back to 4. I worked my way up to 2nd & there was a redz Unfortunately, didn’t get the restart I wanted but closed back in & on the white coming to the checkered gave it the hail mary & tried to roll his outside but came up just a couple inches short.”
It was another great night for Logan & their team. Winning his heat race, Logan was in a great spot for the feature & took advantage of it. Unfortunately, he came up just short of another win.
