8/17/23… Watsonville, California: Friday & Saturday Night, Logan Mitchell was in action at Ocean Speedway & Marysville Raceway with the WMR Midgets. Unfortunately, it was a tough weekend as Logan got upside down on both nights.
Friday started out with heat race action where Logan rolled off from the 6th spot. Rolling off from deep, Logan would charge forward in the heat race. After starting 6th, Logan moved forward & was able to finish in the 4th spot.
That put him starting on the outside of the fourth row in the 8th spot for the feature. After starting 8th, his feature would quickly come to an end. While battling for position, Logan would go for a wild ride & get upside down. He was able to get out of the car uninjured but his night would be done.
After a tough ending to his Friday Night, they were not able to repair the Logan Mitchell Racing #96x. However, Logan got an opportunity to drive the Kevin Felkins owned #11x. This gave Logan the chance to stay in the points hunt.
Saturday Night got started with the heat races. Logan would be in the first of two heat races & would grab the win. He lined up in the 5th spot for the feature event. The night looked to be going in the right direction, but on the first lap of the feature, he would get driven through & get upside down. That once again brought his night to an early end.
It was a very tough weekend with the WMR Midget double header. A lot of equipment was tore up, and some not at any fault of Logan’s. On the bright side, Logan continues to impress this season & has been a threat all year with the WMR Midgets.
