6/12/24… Watsonville, California: Friday & Saturday Night, Logan Mitchell was in action for a WMR double header. Friday Night kicked off the weekend at Ocean Speedway, before the series made the trip to Petaluma on Saturday.
Friday would start off with heart race action where Logan would roll off from the pole. From the pole, Logan quickly jumped out to the lead. After grabbing the lead, Logan would go on to win the heat race & put himself in a nice spot for the feature.
That set him up to start the feature event from the inside of row three in the 5th spot. From there, he’d go to work & move forward. Moving forward, Logan was able to gain a trip of spots, getting up to 2nd & finishing the feature event there.
Saturday Night, Logan’s night didn’t get off to the start that he wanted. He’d start the heat race on the outside of the front row in 2nd. Starting 2nd, he’d have some troubles in the heat race & ended up finishing in the 5th spot.
Going into the feature, he would start out on the inside of row three in the 5th spot. From 5th, Logan quickly went to work. He’d make his way forward & would battle for the win late, before settling for a runner up finish & coming home on Saturday in the 2nd position.
It was a good weekend for Logan as he continues to have a strong season. A pair of runner-up finishes puts him in a good spot in the points standings as he chases the WMR championship this season.
