8/15/24… Watsonville, California: Friday & Saturday Night, Logan Mitchell was back in action at Ocean Speedway. It would be one of the biggest weekends of the season as the WMR Midgets took on the double header Johnny Key Classic!
He started Friday Night out with Heat race action where he’d roll off from the inside of row three in the 5th spot. From 5th, Logan would gain a trio of spots. He got up to the 2nd spot & went on to finish the Heat race there.
Going into the feature he would roll off from the inside of row two in the 3rd spot. Starting 3rd, Logan would battle for a win in the feature. He was able to gain a spot, but would settle for a 2nd place finish on Friday Night.
Entering Saturday, he’d start the night out with heat race action but rolled off from the pole position. Starting 1st, he’d hold onto the spot for the heat race. When it was all said & done, Logan would finish with a heat race win.
Logan then went out for the feature event & once again rolled off from the 1st position. Starting 1st, Logan was able to jump out to the lead. When the checkered flag fell, Logan grabbed the win which was the biggest win of his career.
It was a very good weekend for Logan at Ocean Speedway. He kicked the weekend off on Friday Night with a runner-up finish. Then on Saturday Night, Logan was able to grab the win to cap off the weekend.
