5/2/23... Ventura California: Saturday Night, Logan Mitchell & his team would be in action at Ventura Speedway with the WMR Midgets for his 3rd race of the 2023 race season. 14 WMR Midgets would be in action & ready to roll on Saturday Night.
The night would get rolling with qualifying, where Logan would look to lay down a good lap & set himself up nicely for the rest of the night. He would end up doing just that, as he would end up 5th quick overall in qualifying.
He would then start on the inside of row two in 3rd for his heat race. Starting 3rd, Logan would get rolling in the heat. He would instantly get to the lead and never look back, going on to take home the heat race win.
"I started 3 in the heat and got to the front quickly and the car felt really good & was really fast."
That would put Logan on the outside of row three in the 6th starting spot. Starting 6th, Logan would battle hard to get into the top-5. He would end up gaining one spot & finishing the feature event in the 5th position.
"We made some changes for the main and over did it a bit," Logan continued. "The car was leaning to much on the RR but made the best of it and started 6th and finished 5th."
It was a pretty good night for Logan & the 96x team. They would have very good speed all night, and it seems as though a win is on the horizon for Logan Mitchell.
