5/23/24… Watsonville, California: Friday & Saturday Night, Logan Mitchell was back in action with the WMR Midgets at Ocean Speedway & Petaluma Speedway. He ended up going on to sweep The weekend & grab a pair of wins.
The weekend started on Friday with heat race action. He started on the outside of row two in the 4th spot. From there, Logan went to work. He ended up gaining a pair of spots, & finishing the heat race in the 2nd position.
Going out for the feature, Logan started on the inside of row two in the 3rd spot. He quickly was able to get into the lead. From there, he’d dominate the feature event & went on to grab the feature win which was his 2nd of the season.
Saturday started out with time trials with the co-sanctioned BCRA event. He would end up tuning in 7th quickest overall. That set him up to start 3rd in his heat race, where he’d fall back to 5th & finish there.
That set Logan up to start the feature event from the outside of row five in the 10th spot. Starting 10th, he’d begin to charge his way forward. Logan battled with Bryant Bell, but was able to hold onto the 6th spot & was the highest finishing WMR driver on the night.
“Friday started out really good, almost won our heat race then won my second career main event at my home track which was huge for me. Saturday we went to Petaluma struggled in the heat & finished 5th. Started the main 10th & had a great car. Worked our way up to 6th & won our main event.”
It was a good weekend for Logan as he was fast both nights. He won the feature outright on Friday at Ocean Speedway & then was the WMR winner on Saturday being the highest WMR finisher.
