6/15/23... Watsonville, California: Friday & Saturday Night, Logan Mitchell was back in action with the WMR Midgets for a double header weekend. He would he in action at both Ocean Speedway & Petaluma Speedway.
Friday began with heat race action. Logan would roll off from from the 7th spot in his heat race. Starting deep wouldn't be an issue for Logan as he would quickly get rolling. He charged forward from 7th to 2nd & would finish there.
That started Logan in the 4th spot for the feature event at Ocean Speedway. Despite past struggles in Watsonville, Logan would have an impressive run in the feature. He would move forward from the 4th spot to 2nd & bring home a runner up finish.
"Friday started off good we have a new crew chief working for us and he’s made a huge difference in our progression and program. Started 7th in the heat and finished 2nd. Started 4th in the main and finished 2nd at Watsonville where I’ve struggled at."
Saturday saw Logan once again in action, this time at Petaluma Speedway. His night started off with a 3rd place starting position in the heat race. Once again, Logan went forward in the heat as he would get into 2nd & finish there.
Logan started the Petaluma feature event off from the pole. Starting 1st, Logan jumped out to the early lead. He led the first 16 laps before having an issue that would hurt the car. Logan ended up hanging on for a 2nd place finish & would take the WMR points lead.
"Felt really good going into Petaluma, started 3rd finished 2nd in the heat. Started on the pole and led 16 laps till the throttle linkage came loose but we ended up 2nd and made the podium two nights in a row which I’m proud about."
It was a very impressive weekend for Logan Mitchell as he continues to improve every time he hits the track. He will be looking to take home his first WMR win Saturday Night at Ventura Raceway.
