11/8/23... Stockton, California: Saturday Night, Luke Hayes was in action at the Stockton Dirt Track. It would be the final time that he'd be in action during the 2023 season with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour for the season finale.
The night started out with time trials. Luke would be the 6th of seven cars to hit the track during his group. With a time of 14.561, that would only be enough to put Luke 7th quickest overall in his group for time trials.
He'd go out for the heat race, where he'd roll off from the inside of row four in the 7th spot. Starting 7th, he'd try to gain as many spots as possible. Luke was able to make his way into the 6th spot where he'd finish the heat race.
As they entered the feature, Luke would start the feature from the outside of row eight in the 16th spot. Starting 16th, Luke would begin to move forward. He would gain a handful of spots as he moved forward to the 11th spot where Luke finished the feature event.
It was a solid end to the night in Stockton. Luke came up just short of a top-10 finish in his final Sprint Car Challenge Tour race of the season. Now, his season seems to be coming to an end quickly.
