5/25/23... Placerville, California: Saturday Night, Luke Hayes would be back in action at Placerville Speedway. After a few tough weekends, Luke was able to find some solid speed & ended up bringing home a 10th place finish.
He would start his night out with qualifying. Luke would be the 12th of 21 cars to hit the track. Going out mid pack, Luke was still able to lay down a good lap that would end up putting the driver of the 9L 2nd quick overall.
That lined Luke up 4th on the outside of row two in the heat race. Starting 4th, he would need to stay in the top-4 to make the redraw. Luke would move forward one spot & finish the heat race in the3rd position.
Luke would make the redraw & started 4th in the feature. He would quickly move forward & get to the lead. However, while battling for the lead, Luke would make contact with another driver, & have to go to the work area. He would get it fixed & come back out, but had to start in the back. Luke would battle his way back up to the 10th spot.
It was a good rebound weekend for Luke in Placerville. He's had a rough start to the 2023 season but was able to put together his best run of the season.
