Luke Hayes Has Tough Showing in Merced!

By: Fast Time Media

4/26/23... Merced California: Saturday Night, Luke Hayes & his team would be in action with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour for their 2nd points race or the season in Merced. A great field of 40 Winged 360 Sprint Cars would be in the pit area on Saturday Night ready to roll.

Luke would get his night rolling with qualifying, where he would be he 9th car to hit the track in group number three. Things would not go his way, as he would end up 10th quickest in his group when it was all said & done.

That would line Luke up in the 10th & final spot for his heat race. Starting 10th, Luke would start to move forward early. Unfortunately, he would end up falling backwards. When the heat race came to an end, Luke would finish where he started in 10th.

With a rough start to the night, Luke would roll off from the 7th spot in the C-main. However, when the green flag fell, Luke was able to lay down some solid laps. He would get into a rhythm & battle his way up to the 2nd spot where he would finish.

His C-main result would line him up in the 14th spot in the B-main. Starting deep, he would have to make up a lot of ground. Luke would get rolling & would continue to lay down some solid laps. Unfortunately, he would come up short, finishing 10th & ending his night there.

"In the C-main we started last & made it up to 2nd & transferred. Then in the B-main we went from I think 14th to 10th."

Overall it was a rough night for Luke in Merced. However, he would show a ton of perseverance as he would get better every time he hit the track.

Luke would like to thank his sponsors; Hayes Farms, Finley Farms, Inter State Oil, and Farm Logistics.
