Luke Hayes Takes On Fall Nationals in Chico!

By: Fast Time Media

10/10/23… Chico, California: Friday & Saturday Night, Luke was in action at Silver Dollar Speedway for the final time in 2023. He would take on the Fall Nationals & one of the toughest California fields you’ll see all season.

Luke would get Friday Night started with time trials. He would be the 2nd car out for the first group in qualifying. He would end up timing in 8th quickest overall when he laid down a time of 12.130.

That lined him up in the 8th spot for his heat race. He would struggle in his heat race. After starting 8th, Luke would fall backwards & finish in the 12th spot. That sent him to the C-main where he started 9th. Luke would gain a spot & finish 8th, but that ended his night.

Saturday Luke would look to have a much better night. Once again he began the night in qualifying, this time he’d be in the final group. Going out 3rd in his group, Luke would time 11th quick with a time of 13.131. That was just enough to lock him into the heat races.

For the heat race, Luke would roll off from the 11th starting spot. After starting 11th, Luke ended up falling backwards a spot & finishing in the 12th spot. Once again, he would go to the C-main, this time starting in the 5th spot. Luke was able to move forward to 4th, but unfortunately came up short & ended his weekend.

It was a rough weekend for Luke in Chico. However, they did battle a tough field of cars so it was ultimately a good weekend of learning for Luke as the season nears an end.

Luke would like to thank his sponsors; Hayes Farms, Finley Farms, Inter State Oil, and Farm Logistics.
