4/23/24… Bakersfield, California: Saturday Night, Anthony Bruno was back in action with the WMR Midgets for the 2nd race of the 2024 race season. After a win to kick off the season, Anthony was looking to have a great night on Saturday.
The night started out with heat race action, where Anthony rolled off from the inside of row one from the pole. He quickly jumped out to the lead & pulled away. Anthony went on to win the heat race & start the feature in a good spot.
After the heat race win, Anthony would roll off from the outside of row two in the 4th starting spot for the feature. Starting 4th, Anthony would look to move forward & battle for another win. Unfortunately early on, he’d have a mechanical issue that forced him to pull it in & call it a night.
“We had a really fast race car on Saturday. Had the car working really good for the track conditions. Just an unfortunate way to end to night but we’ll rebound & be ready for the next one”
It was an unfortunate end to what looked like another good night for Anthony & his team. He won his heat race but had an early end to the feature & would finish in the 10th spot.
