5/4/23... Oroville California: Friday Night, Evan Gularte would be in action at Cycleland Speedway for Night 1 of the 26th annual QRC Cup! Evan would look to have a good run in his first night of action at Cycleland in 2023!
The night would get rolling with qualifying, as Evan would be the 10th car to hit the track. He would end up laying down a time of 11.362. That would end up putting Evan 3rd quickest overall.
"Qualified 3rd with one lap then my carb fell off."
That would line Evan up on the outside of row three in the 6th spot for his heat race. Starting 6th, Evan would charge forward. He would end up gaining three spots & finish the heat race in the 3rd position.
He would then lineup on the inside of row two in the 3rd spot for the feature. Unfortunately, things would come to an early end during the feature event. While battling up front, Evan's engine would blow & bring his night to an end.
"I started 3rd in the main event and my motor blew up… those efforts locked me straight into the King of the Hill for Saturday!"
Saturday would get started with the King of The Hill race. Evan would start the first round in 2nd. He would end up finishing round one where he started in 2nd. Round two would see Evan start 4th. He would get up to 3rd & finish there, setting his starting position for the feature.
Evan would roll off from the 3rd spot for the feature. Early on he would get into 2nd. Unfortunately he would fall back to 3rd after making some mistakes. However, while running 3rd, he would have more issues that would bring his night to an end.
"In my first round of the King of the Hill, I started 2nd and stayed there. Second round started fourth and got to 3rd. Then I started the main event in 3rd, got into second for a bit, made some mistakes and fell to fourth and my carb fell off."
It was a solid but unfortunate weekend for Evan at Cycleland Speedway. He would have a ton of speed, but that would be overshadowed by a lot of bad luck.
