4/26/23... Merced California: Saturday Night, Nick Parker & the Pro Racing AZ team would make their first ever trip to the high banks of Merced Speedway. They would battle some tough competition, as a stacked field of 40 Winged 360 Sprint Cars would pack the pit area on Saturday Night.
Nick would get his night going with qualifying, where he would be the 2nd of 10 cars to roll out in the 4th & final group. He would lay down a time of 10.910 which would end up timing him in 8th quickest in his group.
That would line Nick up on the outside of row four in the 8th spot. Early on he would have some solid speed. He would move forward a few spots & found himself battling for a transfer. Unfortunately, his engine would let go, ending his heat race.
He would be scheduled to roll out for the C-main event. However, with the blown engine Nick would have to pack up & call it a night as they would head back to the shop & regroup.
It was a rough night for Nick and his team. They showed some solid speed for his first visit to Merced. However the engine issues would put a sour taste on what was starting to look like a pretty solid night for Nick & the entire team.
