Nick Robfogel Charges To 4th Place Finish in Petaluma!

By: Fast Time Media

4/26/23... Petaluma California: Saturday Night, Nick Robfogel & the Robfogel Racing Team would be in action for the 2nd time in 2023. They would make the trip to Petaluma Speedway for the $500 to win Randy Larson Memorial race.

Nick would get his night started with time trials. He would be the 17th of 35 cars to hit the track. Nick would end up laying down a pretty good lap. That would end up putting the driver of the number 3 in the 7th position overall.

"Totally Botched my qualifying laps and thought I was going to be in trouble but still managed to qualifying 7th or 8th."

That would line Nick up on the pole of his heat race. He would end up falling to 2nd going into turn one on the initial start. Then coming out of two, he would get squeezed into the wall, breaking his Jacob's ladder & wheel. Nick would pull off & end up finishing the heat race 9th.

"Heat race I started pole position and unfortunately had no grip on the bottom on the initial start so was second going into 1 and was squeezed into the wall exiting 2 breaking the Jacob’s ladder and wheel."

Nick would have to go to the B-main where he would roll off from the pole. Once the green flag fell, Nick would quickly take the lead & check out. He would dominate the B-main with ease & transfer to the feature event.

"B main bound at this point. Crew got the car fixed and knowing I was on the pole for the B we thrown a setup at it to see what the track was doing. We ended up winning the B-main with ease"

Nick would roll off from deep in the feature as would start in the 21st spot. Early on he would just fry & keep his nose clean. The driver of the #3 car would slowly start charging forward. With just a few laps left, Nick was able to get into the top-5 & keep fighting forward. He would end up finishing 4th & going plus 17 in the feature.

"With a posted starting position of 20th and actually starting in 23rd due to improper lineups I knew my work was cut out. I just one by one started picking off cars till I found myself in 6th with five to go," Nick continued. "I figured we’d send it and with five to go I sent it to the top and managed to get to third with one lap to go but lost the nose & fell back to 4th."

Overall, it was a very impressive way to finish the Night for Nick. Despite the heat race issues, Nick was one of the fastest cars all night. If not for the issues, Nick possibly had a car capable of taking home the feature win on Saturday.

Next Race: TBA

Nick would like to thank his sponsors; RCS, Empire Automotive, Tony Maestri w/state farm, and Apex contractors.
