Nick Robfogel Rounds Out Podium To Lock Up Petaluma Track Championship!

By: Fast Time Media

10/11/23… Petaluma, California: Saturday Night, Nick Robfogel was in action at Petaluma Speedway for the final time of the 2023 season. He entered the night as the points leader & would look to lock up the championship on Saturday. However, stress levels would be high as they had made a mid week motor change.

“The stress was high going into Saturday night with a mid week motor swap. We had found metal in the oil. Also with the championship on the line we had to finish 10th or better to seal the championship.

Nick kicked the night off with time trials. He would be the 9th of 13 Wingless Sprints to hit the track. Ultimately, Nick would time in QuickTime overall. That lined him up on the outside of the fourth row in the 2nd spot for the heat race. Nick was able to gain two spots & finish the heat in 2nd.

“We did our norm and unloaded with speed qualifying 1st of 13 and once again fell into a transfer spot for the heat finishing 2nd putting us in the redraw.”

Nick’s son, Bordy Robfogel would pull the two in the redraw which set Nick up to start 2nd. Early on, Nick was a little free & fell back to 4th. As he was able to settle in & the car got better, Nick would make his way back to 3rd. Once in 3rd, Nick would settle in & make sure to hold onto the spot. He was able to finish 3rd & lock up the track championship.

“Brody once again with an amazing pill draw (2) putting us on the front row for the main. Started the main a little free hoping the track would come to us and unfortunately on the start we got pushed up into the marbles and fell back to fourth. Picked off one car on a restart but finished 3rd not really pushing but not leaving much to be given just making sure we sealed the championship up.

The season was a good one for Nick. While he didn’t get that elusive win, he was able to rack up a ton of podium’s and put together a very consistent 2023 season at Petaluma.

Next Race: 11/4, Stockton Dirt Track

Nick would like to thank his sponsors; RCS, Empire Automotive, Tony Maestri w/state farm, and Apex contractors.
