Nick Robfogel Takes Home Runner Up in Petaluma!

By: Fast Time Media

6/20, Petaluma, California: Saturday Night, Nick Robfogel would once again be in action at Petaluma Speedway. Another solid field of Wingless Sprints would be in the pit area & Nick would take home a 2nd place finish.

The night began with qualifying, where Nick would be the 5th car to hit the track. They would take some gambles on the setup, but it paid off. Nick was able to go out & lay down quick time.

“Started off greasy in hot laps and we gambled going early by tightening the car and qualified p-1.”

Nick started the heat race on the outside of row two in the 4th position. He would quickly move forward in the heat race. Nick grabbed the lead early on & w never looked back. He would go on to take the heat race win & make the redraw.

“In the heat race the track was starting to come in and found our selves able to get the lead early and take the checkered flag.”

For the redraw, Nick would pull the 6 pill & start from 6th. Early on, Nick was quickly able to move forward & get into the 3rd spot. A caution would come out & tighten up the field. However on the ensuing restart, they would go three wide & Nick and 2nd place would make contact. That caused the 2nd place driver to get upside down. He would be okay.

“Unfortunately on the restart we went almost three wide and as we tried to go for the same real state we tangled with second causing them to flip. I absolutely hate that this happened and pride myself on running everyone clean. I would never intentionally wreck anyone and hate it for them and that team.”

Nick would restart from the 2nd position after the wreck & was able to hang on to the 2nd spot. Unfortunately, it would be tough to pass as the race went on. Nick would have to settle for the 2nd place finish & come just short of that first win this season.

“Pulled a 6 pill for the main and as we managed to get through the opening laps and make out way to third I felt like we had a pretty good car but needed a caution to catch the two front runners. Got our caution & on the restart I was able to stay with the leader and even reel them in a bit but the track was to fast to make a move for the lead and ended the night with another second place finish at Petaluma.

Nick continues to chase after that first win of the 2023 season. The Robfogel Racing Team is so close to breaking through. They continue to run consistently in the top-5 & even the podium.

Next Race: 6/24, Petaluma Speedway

Nick would like to thank his sponsors; RCS, Empire Automotive, Tony Maestri w/state farm, and Apex contractors.
