Parker 8th With SCCT in Gold Cup Opener!

By: Fast Time Media

9/12/23… Chico, California: Wednesday Night, Nick Parker would open up the Gold Cup Race of Champions with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour. Coming off a tough night the previous Saturday, Nick looked to rebound on Wednesday & he would do just that.

Nick opened the night by timing in QuickTime in his group out of 14 cars. That put him starting on the outside of row two in the 4th spot. After the driver on the outside of the front row jumped, Nick would roll off from 2nd. He quickly got in line in 2nd & went on to finish there. That put Nick in the dash where he started 7th & finished 8th.

As a result of his dash finish, Nick started the feature from the outside of row four in 8th. As he started 8th, Nick would try to move forward but held on to 8th. As the race went on he continued to keep himself in 8th. As the checkered flag fell, Nick brought home a good finish as he came home 8th.

Going into his Friday Night Prelim, Nick looked to carey his momentum over from Wednesday. He got the night started on a good note as he timed in 16th quickest overall out of 36 cars. He would start his heat race in 3rd, but fell back to 5th where he’d finish.

The feature saw Nick roll off from the outside of row nine in the 18th spot. Starting 18th, Nick would fall backwards in a very tough feature. He ended up falling back to the 23rd spot. Nick went a lap down & would finish in the 23rd spot.

Coming into Saturday, Nick would be 44th in the points. That was enough to start Nick on the outside of the fifth row in the 10th spot for his heat race. Starting 10th, Nick would gain just one spot & finish in the 9th spot.

Nick would have to head to the C-main where he rolled off from 6th. As he started 6th in a tough C-main, only four cars would transfer. Unfortunately, just two laps in Nick’s C-main would come to an end & also bring an end to his weekend.

He wouldn’t get the ending to the weekend he wanted, but Nick did have a great night on Wednesday & made the fetaure on Thursday. Nick will be in action Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at Keller Auto Speedway & Placerville Speedway.

Nick would like to thank his sponsors; Parker Automotive, Rock Knocker, Metal Tec, BG Oil & Lube, Maxim Chassis, Tiner Hirst Enterprises, and Kaeding Performance.

Next Race: 9/14, Keller Auto Speedway
