6/26/24… Ventura, California: Saturday Night, Anthony was back in action with the WMR Midgets. This time, the series would make the trip to Ventura Raceway as they had one of the best car counts of the season.
Anthony kicked the night off with heat race action. He would start the heat race on the outside of the front row in the 2nd spot. In a tough heat race, he’d battle up front, but fell back to the 3rd spot & finished there.
When the feature rolled around, Anthony was in a good spot as he rolled off from the outside of the front row in the 2nd spot. Starting up front, Anthony was able to stay battling up front as he had a car capable of winning the feature.
While battling up front, a caution would come out. On the ensuing restart, Anthony would start 2nd but Anthony would have a throttle pedal failure causing a full loss of power. It would unfortunately bring his feature to come to an early end & Anthony would finish in the 14th spot.
It definitely wasn’t the ending to the night that Anthony wanted, but he had a car capable of winning. Unfortunately some things out of his control brought the night to an end.
