By: Chris Santos

12/20/22… Fast Time Media: This season, Ryan Rocha would make a huge step in his young racing career. He would make the step up run full time in. Winged 360 Sprint Car. In 2021 he had run a mixture of 305 races & 360 races, however in 2022 it would be all 360 races!

The season started out on a very high note. They would head to their home track of Keller Auto Speedway in Hanford California. Ryan would qualify 6th quick, before winning his heat & the dash. The 15 year old would start on the pole of the feature & end up finishing 6th.

Ryan would then make the trip to Silver Dollar Speedway the following weekend for the Silver Cup. Once again he would impress as he would finish 14th on night one out of nearly 50 cars. Night two would see him miss the feature finishing 12th in the B-main.

On April 2nd, Ryan would run with the Kings of Thunder Winged 360 Sprint Cars at The Tulare Thunderbowl. Ryan would show some good speed & would end up finishing the night with a top-10, finishing in the 10th spot.

In May, Ryan would be in action with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour for both nights of the Peter Murphy Classic. Unfortunately it would be a tough weekend for Ryan, as he would struggle & ultimately miss the feature on both nights.

Just one week later on May 21st, Ryan would be back in action in Tulare, once again with the Kings of Thunder Winged 360 Sprint Cars. It would be a good rebound in Tulare, as Ryan would finish in the 7th spot, bringing home another top-10.

Early June would see Ryan and the team make the trip to Chico to run the Tyler Wolf Memorial at the Silver Dollar Speedway. Night one would be tough as he would finish 7th in the C-main. However, Night two would be on the right track before rain would end the night early.

The rest of the month of June would see Ryan in action twice at Ocean Speedway. One race would end with a 7th place finish for Ryan. Unfortunately on June 24th, Ryan would blow his engine in qualifying & that would end his night early and bring a hault to his season.

On September 15th, he would return to action with a newly fixed engine. He would be in action with the Kings of Thunder Winged 360 Sprint Cars at the Keller Auto Speedway. Ryan would show some good speed in his return, but unfortunately his night would end with a 22nd place DNF in the feature.

Ryan would end his season in Tulare in late October for the 28th annual Trophy Cup. Night one would be his best night as he would make the B-main but finish 21st. Friday & Saturday would both end in the C-main & that would bring an end to his 2022 season.

Going into 2023, Ryan and his team will look to build off of a solid 2022. While some things didn’t go his way, they would put together some very good runs & showed some good speed. 2023 is gonna be a good season for Ryan & his team!
