6/23/23… Hanford, California: Saturday Night, Ryan Rocha would return to action at Keller Auto Speedway. He would be in action with the Kings of Thunder Winged 360 Sprint Cars, where he brought home a 6th place finish.
The night began with qualifying, where Ryan was the 15th of 23 cars to hit the track in Hanford. Despite going out towards the end of qualifying, Ryan was able to lay down a pretty good lap. That time put the driver of the 5R 4th quickest overall in qualifying.
Ryan started heat race number one on the pole. Starting on the pole, Ryan would not get the start that he wanted. He fell backwards but battled his way forwards. However, Ryan would have to settle for a 2nd place finish.
A 2nd place finish in his heat race would be enough to put Ryan into the dash. He started the dash from the outside of row number two in 4th. Ryan didn’t run the race he wanted, as he fell backwards in the dash & would finish 6th.
He started the feature event from the outside of row three in the 6th spot. Early on he would battle his way forward. At one point, Ryan had made his way up to 3rd & looked to be on his way to a podium finish. Unfortunately, Ryan faded late in the feature & would finish where he started in 6th.
“Had a little stumble at the start of the heat race, but overall had a solid night, just wished we could have held on to a podium finish at the end.”
It was a good return to action for Ryan & the 5R team. He had a really good night all together & put together his best finish of the 2023 race season.
