11/1/23… Red Bluff, California: Saturday, Seth was in action at the Red Bluff Indoor Facility. He would be in action in the Open 500 division to kick off the Red Bluff Outlaws season. With 41 cars in competition, it would be a great day of racing.
The night would begin with time trials. Seth was the 8th car to hit the track. He’d end up putting down a time of 9.124. That wouldn’t be the lap that Seth wanted, as he would end up timing in 25th quickest overall.
Going into the heat race, Seth would roll off from 5th. The leader wouldn’t be able to take the green so Seth rolled off from the 3rd spot. He’d shuffle back to 4th & run there for most of the heat race. However, coming to the checkered 2nd & 3rd would make contact & Seth slipped by to grab the 2nd spot.
After making it out of the heat race, he’d start the feature event from the 10th spot. He’d spend most of the race running around the 10th spot. Late in the race, there were two pileups. He’d end up gaining a few more spots & finishing the feature event in the 6th position.
“The first points race at red bluff didn’t start out too great, going 25th quick in qualifying. I got a bad start in the heat & shuffled into 4th, leaving me 2 spots out of a transfer. Coming to the white flag, the second & third place cars got tangled up racing for the transfer & I snuck by to finish 2nd & go straight to the show. I just maintained my spot for most of the feature. On a restart with 1 to go, there were 2 pile ups which allowed me to gain positions & finish in the 6th spot.”
It was a good start to the 2023/2024 Red Bluff Outlaws season. While luck went his way, Seth also had very good speed to open the season & brought home a top-10 finish.
